The treasures of the ancient times and the Old and Medieval Russian State (overview of the first floor)

During this tour you will see amazing exhibits of the Historical Museum. Among them are the first Russian gold and silver coins (zlatniki and serebreniki); “Mstislav’s Gospel” (a masterpiece of the art of decorating medieval manuscript books), birchbark manuscripts; decorations of boyar’s garments, made in the most sophisticated jewelry techniques; weapons and armor of Russian soldiers; personal belongings of the first Russian Tsar – Ivan the Terrible, relics related to the first Romanovs, one of the largest globes in the world of the XVII-th century, the first Russian printed book and so on. Also you can enjoy the amazing interiors specially designed for the Historical Museum with the participation of famous artists such as Victor Vasnetsov, Henryk Semiradsky, Ivan Aivazovsky

History of Russian Empire of 18-19 centuries” (overview of the second floor)

The tour includes the exposition halls, where the objects of history and culture of the Russian Empire are exhibited. During this tour you will see personal belongings and memorial items of Russian emperors, including our first emperor – Peter the Great, one of the greatest rulers – Catherine II, and many others. You can feel the atmosphere that reigned on the magnificent balls of the beginning of the XIX century. You will see numerous exhibits that tell you about the way of life and culture of Russian Empire and other events that determined the future of the country.

The Gold – the metal of Gods and a king of metals

This exhibition features rarities from the Golden treasury of the State Historical Museum. During the tour you can see priceless relics associated with Russian tsars and emperors; liturgical books and icons in precious covers; exquisite jewelry made in unique jewelry techniques; silver and gold vessels and utensils, award and ceremonial weapons; medals and first Russian orders, and many other items decorated with gold and revealing the role of this precious metal – Gold.

Les trésors de l’époque Préhistorique et du Moyen Âge

La visite du 1er étage du Musée. Une promenade passionnante dans les salles dont les décors correspondent aux époques différentes de l’histoire. À partir de quelques chefs d’œuvre de la collection archéologique, vous découvrirez les objets qui parlent de l’histoire initiale de la Russie et de l’état Moscovite, des princes et tsars de la dynastie des Riourikides et des premiers tsars de la dynastie des Romanovs.

L’or: le métal des dieux et le roi des métaux

Située dans les belles salles “Bysantines”, l’exposition unit des objets en or ou avec de l’or – les monuments les plus importants de l’histoire et de la culture des deux derniers millénaires.
