Shanxi Province is located in the middle reaches of the Huanhe.  Since ancient times here crossed the road down from the mountains of western China and reach the eastern coast of the sea. Deep rivers and fertile valleys in the heart of the province stretching from north to south, uniting the nomadic areas of the north and the agricultural lands of the south. The favorable geographical location and abundance of natural resources allowed the Shanxi become one of the main cultural and strategic centers of ancient China. The versatility and the intensity of the ancient culture of China was determined by a special way of life of the ruler and officials, the warrior and protector, artisan, farmer and nomad, actor and musician, philosopher, educator and saint. Their birth was surrounded with objects, symbols, shape, pattern, or the subtlest colors, and even the sound of which gave a special “Chinese” style of decoration of everyday as a normal home and the luxury of the palace or temple.
